Becoming a Crossing Guard is not a 40 hour a week job but you do have some similar responsibilities. The parents are placing their trust and care into the hands of the crossing guard every school day. You begin your day by being at your "Post" or your crosswalk at least an hour before school sessions begin. As the children start to arrive for school your job is to cross the children in an organized and patient manner, developing a good crossing walk habits with the kids from the first day at school is very important.
