REF: Officers Promoted

On June 26, 2000 at 0900 hours at Elyria City Hall, Officer Richard Ellis and Officer Bryan Rado were promoted to the rank of sergeant. The oath of office was administered by Mayor William Grace in the presence of family, friends and co-workers.
Officer Ellis is 14 year veteran of the Elyria Police Department. He has served in the Patrol Division as a road patrol officer, in the Neighborhood Impact Unit as a community policing officer, in the Detective Bureau as an investigative officer and as a training officer for new recruits in their training as officers of the Elyria Police Department. Officer Ellis brings a wealth of law enforcement experience to his current position as a supervisor.
Officer Rado is a 5 year veteran of the Elyria Police Department. He has served in the Patrol Division as a road patrol officer, in the Neighborhood Impact Unit as a community policing officer and in the Detective Bureau as an investigator. Additionally, he has served as a field training officer for new recruits in their training as officers of the Elyria Police Department.
The Elyria Police Department looks forward to working in conjunction with these two new supervisors and commends them for the jobs they have done to date.
