1. The safe driving award will be presented to sworn officers
only.
2. The Elyria Police Department recognizes that the
combination of safe driving and maintaining observant
surveillance of the patrol zone requires a much higher
level of skill than does the normal operation of a motor
vehicle.
3. The police officer who acquires the ability to concentrate
on two major areas of proficiency at the same time,
deserves special recognition.
4. This award is presented on the basis of a non-chargeable
accident-free driving record.
5. Awards will be presented for 10, 15, 20, 25 years of safe
driving.
