REF: Drug Arrest/South Park Apartments

Over a period of the past several weeks officers from the Elyria Police Department Narcotics Unit and the Neighborhood Impact Unit have been working in conjunction with South Park Apartments, HAPI Management and the residents of 1864 Middle Avenue to combat criminal activity in their neighborhood.

As a result of this cooperation and the efforts of the Elyria Police Department, sixteen (16) adults and four (4) juveniles have been arrested for criminal activity in this neighborhood.

These arrests have resulted in twenty six (26) counts of trafficking in cocaine, one (1) count of possession of cocaine and eight (8) various misdemeanor charges.

This investigation is ongoing and additional charges and arrests are anticipated. The Elyria Police Department wishes to thank and commend both South Park Apartments, HAPI Management and the residents of 1864 Middle Avenue for their cooperation and efforts to combat this criminal activity.
