The Police Chaplain's primary role is to assist the police officer in the difficult and dangerous job of protecting the public. The Chaplains are available to assist the officers and their families in any way possible. By building supportive relationships, the Chaplains can offer counsel and encouragement to the officers. The Chaplains offer daily prayers for the safety and well being of the members of the Department.
When called upon, the Chaplains assist the officers on the street with death notifications, suicidal persons, domestic violence or any call where they think the Chaplains may be of use. The Chaplains are on call 24 hours a day.
Officers also refer citizens in conflict or in need to the Chaplains for aid when appropriate. The Chaplains offer comfort and counseling assistance to victims and their families whenever possible.
