REF: Community Building Award

On May 9, 2000, the Frank S. Harmon Masonic Lodge No. 663 F. & A. M., Elyria, Ohio presented the Community Builder Award for the year 2000 to Captain Dennis P. Will of the Elyria Police Department.

This prestigious award is given in recognition of community service in efforts to assist in building a better community. The Elyria Police Department is proud to congratulate Captain Will upon his receipt of this award and appreciates the efforts of the Frank S. Harmon Masonic Lodge No. 663 F. & A. M., Elyria, Ohio in recognizing Captain Will's contributions to the community.

The Elyria Police Department continually strives to serve the community through efforts which actively seek to involve and engage the community to the betterment of all. It is in this spirit that we believe this award exemplifies not only Captain Will's contributions, but the continuing efforts put forth by the entire Elyria Police Department.

Please note the delay in the time of the press release concerning the Community Builders Award 2000 presented to Captain Will by the Frank S. Harmon Masonic Lodge.

I believe that an explanation is necessary to explain this delay. At the time of the receipt of the award, Captain Will was working on an investigation which required undercover activity on his part. As such, his real identity could not be listed by the news media, especially if a photograph were to be published revealing his identity or likeness.
