Recruits
On October 3rd, 2002, three individuals will be sworn in as Elyria Police Officers. The swearing-in ceremony will take place at 1:30 PM in the Community Room at the Elyria Police Dept.
Information
on the new Police Recruits is as follows:
Clinton
A. Herte, age: 28, is married. Mr.
Herte is a commissioned law enforcement officer, and worked for the Lafayette
Police Department in Medina County, prior to accepting a position with the
Elyria Police Department.
James F.
Babitsky, age: 25, is single.
Elmer R.
Tibayan, age: 34, is married.
Mr. Babitsky and Mr. Tibayan will be required to attend the Basic Police Academy at Lorain County Community College. This training will begin on Tuesday, October 8th, 2002 and will last for approx. 16 weeks (graduation date scheduled for January 31, 2003), After successful completion of the police academy, Mr. Babitsky and Mr. Tibayan will be placed in a Field Training Program at the Elyria Police Department for a period of 14 weeks.
After a
week long in service program, Mr. Herte will be placed into the Field Training
Program for a period of 14 weeks.
