REF:Shooting at Foxes Lair

On August 1, 1999 at approximately 2:45 p.m., Elyria Police Department arrested Rashan Hunt, 21 yrs. of age, who resides at 2800 Central Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio.

Elyria Police were dispatched to 638 Lake Avenue in response to an aggravated menacing complaint. The victim of this menacing identified Rashan Hunt as the perpetrator and indicated that he was armed with an automatic handgun. Police located Rashan Hunt in the area and he fled from police which resulted in a short term search which led to his arrest. During the chase and search Hunt discarded a 9mm handgun which was fully loaded. As a result of this incident, Hunt was charged with aggravated menacing, resisting arrest, tampering with evidence and carrying a concealed weapon. Additionally, Hunt was charged with felonious assault and aggravated burglary involving the incident on 07/26/99 wherein Sierra Carey had been shot with a handgun at 2280 West River Road, North.

These charges involving the shooting of Sierra Carey were preferred as a result of physical evidence developed at the scene of the shooting, statements by witnesses, and forensic evidence. Once in custody, Rashan Hunt made a statement to the investigating detectives admitting his involvement in the shooting and theft involving Sierra Carey.

Additionally, Rashan Hunt was charged with the offense of burglary resulting from an incident that occurred on March 26, 1999 at a residence located on Foster Avenue in the City of Elyria.
